Address: Södra förstadsgatan 70
Welcome to 4 creative summer days with us in the studio.
During the first days, we will introduce both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques. In wheel throwing, we focus on classic ceramic forms such as cups, bowls, and vases. Away from the wheel, we explore techniques such as coiling, slab building, and pinch techniques, as well as more sculptural approaches.
During the final days of the course, you will continue developing your pieces. For example, you may add handles, refine the bases, and work further on the surfaces. We will also explore different decorative techniques, including using engobe (colored clay slip) to create patterns on your work.
You will work at your own pace and receive individual guidance by two course leaders throughout the course.
The course is suitable both for beginners who are curious about ceramics and for those who have previous experience. Teaching includes both group demonstrations and individual guidance throughout the course.
We will fire and glaze your work after the course. You can choose from several different glazes (colors), and your finished pieces will be ready for collection in approximately six weeks.
Materials
A clay cost of 65 kr/ kg including firing and glazes.
Coffee or tea will be provided – if you need a snack, bring one.
